**IMPORTANT NOTICE**

STUDENT  PICK-UP NUMBER (Carpool) Sign-up

If you pick up your child(ren) after school, you need a Student Drop Off/Pick Up (Carpool) Number!  This applies to individuals [including those that are only picking up their own child(ren)] as well as carpools.  Here are the facts:

WHO:               Everyone who, at one time or another picks up their child after school by car.  This includes if you only pick up on bad weather days or once in a while. If you need extra carpool tags, please let us know and we’ll give you enough tags (same carpool number) for all of your drivers.

WHY:                For the safety of our children!  We don’t want children cutting through traffic to meet you on some corner or a child waiting by himself for a ride that’s late when everyone is already gone.  This is also for your convenience as well as a time saver.  There are not enough parking spaces for everyone to come into the building to get their children.  Also, so you don’t have to tote your infant and/or preschoolers in and out.  It’s also a lot nicer and easier for everyone on bad weather days.

WHAT:             A system where you drive your car into either the Teachers’ Parking Lot, Circle Drive or Hayes Road carpool lane and your children are brought directly to you in your car.  You must stay in your car and display your Student Drop Off/Pick Up (Carpool) Number.  Lines start forming before 3:15 p.m., and don’t start moving until about 3:20, so expect to wait a few minutes and then move forward slowly or simply arrive around 3:20.  Once they start to move, the lines go quickly and are through around 3:30.  (Expect to wait a little longer the first week of school and during bad weather.)

HOW:               Complete this form and return it to your child’s teacher.  If you signed up for a number before school started or asked to keep a number from the past school year, PLEASE do not sign up again.   Only one person from a carpool need request tags.  We will send instructions with the tags.  The children must know the carpool number and which carpool location you have chosen.  If you have already signed up but need additional tags, please make a note below with your child’s name, teacher and the carpool number you were assigned, along with the number of tags you need.
